AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION NAMES WELLMONT ONE OF TOP THREE TRAINING CENTERS FOR CPR

Wellmont Health System has been named one of the state’s top three community training centers for cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the American Heart Association.

From July 1, 2000, to June 30, Wellmont hospitals trained or retrained a total of 5,392 persons in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support. Only Nashville’s Centennial Medical Center and Vanderbilt Medical Center trained more individuals.

In total, the top 10 AHA community training centers in Tennessee provided life-support training to more than 50,000 people during the 12-month period.
