The event will be held from 8 a.m. until 4:15 p.m., with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. Preregistration is required.
Topics include psychological needs of diabetes patients, nutritional guidelines for diabetes management, insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring benefits, safe use of U-500 insulin in patients, new classes of oral antidiabetes medications and effective insulin use in hospitals.
Dr. Tanwir is joining Wellmont Medical Associates Endocrinology in Church Hill. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and is finishing his clinical fellowship in endocrinology at this hospital. Dr. Tanwir is board-certified in internal medicine and is board-eligible in endocrinology.
