BRISTOL – Thanks to the generosity of area residents, this year’s Children’s Miracle Network radiothon raised $23,000 to improve children’s health care in the region.

Wellmont Health System and Electric 94.9 teamed up to broadcast the radiothon, which was held Dec. 4 and 5. U.S. Wireless sponsored the radiothon phone bank.

The Children’s Miracle Network was developed in 1983 to help improve the quality of life of sick children and each year raises $250 million for children’s hospitals. CMN represents 170 children’s hospitals around the nation, including the Wellmont system. CMN is unique in that all money raised locally stays in the local community.
